01
Context
"Made in Slovenia" is an initiative of the Museum of Architecture and Design, promoting a selection of the best Slovenian designs worldwide. Each selected project receives the "Made in Slovenia" badge of excellence and inclusion in the Museum's permanent collection. Our studio was selected to develop the project's visual identity following an open pitch competition.
Opting for Abstract Symbol
When strategizing solutions, one could easily opt for the most obvious one: select one of the well-established and accepted national Slovenian graphical symbols such as Triglav, linden leaf, or carnation and adjust it accordingly to fit the brief.
However, this approach would only emphasize the geographical aspect, not the innovation and design aspects of the product. For the reasons stated, we opted for an abstracted badge with a hidden letter "S." This approach emphasizes the innovation of the products while ensuring the relevance of the visual identity in the years to come.

02
Solution
Each selected product receives a unique badge of excellence, custom-generated to reflect its inherent qualities. This abstract design system unites the badges under a bold, unifying visual identity, preserving the individual character and excellence of each recognized product.
900+ Unique Badges
Every badge is generated within the same visual system, enabling the creation of over 900 unique badges of excellence. A custom-built generator assigns a unique badge to each product based on its name, retail price, the number of designers involved, and the product development time span. As of now, more than 120 products were awarded the badge.
Individual While Coherent
Dynamically generated badges emphasize the uniqueness of every product while ensuring a coherent and distinctive overall visual identity. One of the badges was selected as the core badge and the logo of the initiative, thus used on all promotional materials.
